Vitamin A encourages healthy skin cell production. Retinal, retinol and retinoic acid are important to cell production and growth. Vitamin A also stimulates fibroblasts—the cells responsible for developing tissue that keeps skin firm and healthy—in the deep layers of your skin.

Vitamin E helps reduce the appearance of scars. Free radicals also make it harder for scars to heal; try applying vitamin E oil to diminish more permanent marks. It may help moisturize skin. While vitamin E's main role in creams and lotions is as an antioxidant, it could help soften skin as well.

Vitamin B5 is absorbed by the skin, the provitamin transforms into vitamin B5 (pantothenic acid). This has a natural ability to moisturize, soothe, heal and regenerate the skin. This vitamin goes beyond moisturizing.

Vitamin C has antioxidant properties and its role in collagen synthesis make vitamin C a vital molecule for skin health. Dietary and topical ascorbic acid have beneficial effects on skin cells, and some studies have shown that vitamin C may help prevent and treat ultraviolet (UV)-induced photodamage.

Hyaluronic Acid. As the body's collagen declines, the appearance of wrinkles and discoloration become more visible. Maximizing collagen levels will keep skin supple. Hyaluronic acid keeps collagen synthesis up, as well as retaining skin moisture, contributing to the anti-aging benefits to the skin.
